The coalition includes Havasupai Tribe, Center for Biological Diversity, Grand Canyon Trust and Sierra Club.
According to the coalition, the decision was made without the consultation of the tribals and without updates to an obsolete federal environmental review dating to 1986.
The Havasupai Tribe has filed a notice of appeal against the ruling which favoured the Forest Service and gave green signal for the mining operations.
Environmental groups allege that the Canyon Mine is a threat to the wildlife and endangered species in the area, and the uranium-mining waste can contaminate the aquifers and streams that sustain the Grand Canyon and Colorado River.
Grand Canyon Trust member Roger Clark said: "The Canyon Mine threatens Havasu Falls and the Havasupai Tribe’s homeland with radioactive contamination.
"Particularly in light of the toxic legacy uranium mining has left across the Southwest, it is critically important to challenge Judge Campbell’s decision that the Canyon Mine can proceed under an outdated and obsolete environmental review."
