Under the $11.7m contract, Zamil Structural Steel Company will fabricate and supply a large tonnage of pipe racks, equipment support structures, platforms, shelters, and other steel products for the refinery, being constructed in the coastal part of the City of Bish, Jazan,
Owned by Saudi Aramco, the refinery is expected to have 400,000 barrel per day capacity to process heavy and medium crude oils and produce gasoline, ultra-low sulfur diesel, benzene and paraxylene.
Upon completion in late next year, the refinery is expected to contribute to the fulfillment of economic development objectives in Jazan.
The Jazan project will be synchronized with a large integrated gasification combined-cycle plant, which is scheduled to enter service in 2017.
Recently, Air Products, in a joint venture with Saudi Arabian company ACWA, secured a contract from Saudi Aramco to build, own and operate an industrial gas complex for the refinery.
