The company reported a net loss of $12.3m, or $0.01 per share, compared to $34.2m, or $0.04 a share, for the same period a year earlier. Total revenues were $77.5m, compared to $118m in the last year.

Attributable uranium sales volumes for the quarter were 1.7 million pounds sold from the corporation’s operations and joint ventures, compared with 3.3 million pounds sold in Q1 2014.

The company said the lower sales volumes were mainly attributable to the timing of sales to customers and the remaining unsold first-quarter output that would be sold in subsequent quarters.

As at 31 March 2015, Uranium One had consolidated cash and cash equivalents of $112.8m, including restricted cash of $16m, compared with $212m at 31 December 2014. Working capital was $203.3m at the end of Q1.

Uranium One has assets in Kazakhstan, the US, Australia and Tanzania. ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation, via its affiliates, owns 100% of the outstanding common shares of Uranium One.
