The stations aim to enhance reliability and efficiency of the 400kV-high voltage electricity transmission network in the region.

The stations launch forms part of DEWA’s efforts to support the UAE Vision 2021 and Dubai Plan 2021 that includes development of new projects and launch of initiatives.

According to DEWA,the project will enhance transmission capacity to the maximum while reducing power transmission losses to the minimum, thus strengthening the capacity of the electricity transmission networks.

DEWA managing director and CEO Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer said: "It balances the transmission system, maintains supply voltage to raise the efficiency and reliability of the network in these key areas.

"It also ensures a continuous and stable supply to customers at all times."

Equipped with latest control systems for boosting the power systems’ capacity, the stations are also anticipated to support Dubai’s development and economic plans.

DEWA intends to upgrade its infrastructure in order to provide efficient and reliable services to meet its growing demand for electricity.
