The company will develop the two projects on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis with a 30-year concession period.
Planned to be built in two phases, the waste-to-energy project will process 1,000 tons a day of household waste.
The project’s phase I, which will require CNY385m ($62.7m) investment, will have a daily processing capacity of 700 tons. It will comply with the Euro 2000 Standard,
The food waste treatment project features an operating model that combines collection, transportation and processing. It will process 100 tons of waste food a day.
In order to enhance processing efficiency while effectively reduce operating costs, the company will implement the projects in a coordinated design, construction and operation.
China Everbright International CEO Chen Xiaoping said: "This is the group’s first household waste and food waste co-processing project, and represents a new industry approach, forming a comprehensive solution for urban solid waste problems."
