The complex will include eight processing plants, each with capacity to process 60,000 barrels per day (bpd) of gas condensates.

The basic design and construction of joint processing, utility and back-up units will be carried out soon following which construction of refineries will commence.

The complex is designed to produce various oil derivatives, including 270,000bpd of naphtha, 140,000bpd gasoil, 30,000bpd of liquefied petroleum gas and 40,000bpd kerosene.

Trade Arabia cited Siraf Refineries Infrastructure managing director Alireza Sadeghabadi as saying: "Demand for naphtha is increasing and with the Siraf project we will be able to produce more (naphtha) for exporting to Asian chemical makers."

In the coming years, Iran plans stop all condensate exports and use it in local processing units, to produce gasoline and petrochemicals.
