Poyry has secured an owner's engineer services contract for a 257MW Hoa Hoi solar PV power plant project in Phu Yen province, Vietnam.

The contract has been awarded by Phu Yen TTP, a project company set up by B.Grimm Power Public Company from Thailand and Truong Thanh Vietnam Group (TTVN) from Vietnam.
Under the contract, Poyry will be responsible for assistance in project management, design review, and site supervision services during construction and commissioning.
To be built on 260 hectares of land in the South Central Coast area of Vietnam, the Hoa Hoi solar PV project will include a total of 257MW solar photovoltaics and 220kV electrical interconnection.
Poyry regional director Petteri Härkki said: “We are proud to have been chosen by B.Grimm and Truong Thanh Vietnam Group as their owner’s engineer for this important project, which is one of the largest solar PV projects in South East Asia.
“This project further strengthens Pöyry’s role in supporting the renewables boom in the South East Asian region, where we have so far been involved in more than 4,000 MW of solar and 3,000 MW of wind power projects.”
While the contract value is not revealed, the expected duration of the project for Poyry is nine months.
In August, the company had secured owners’ engineering services assignment for 340MW wind project in Vietnam from Super, a Thialand-based renewable energy developer.
The six sub-projects include the 40 MW wind farm facility located in Ca Mau, which is expected to be completed first in the second quarter of 2020, followed by the 30MW wind farm in Soc Trang Phase 1, which is expected to be completed in the middle of 2020.
Pöyry was assigned the task of conducting feasibility study, wind turbine generator supplier selection, technical review of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts and project management and engineering design of review for the six wind farms.
