Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has given PGNiG Upstream Norway AS (PUN) consent to drill exploration well 6507/5-9 S in production licence 838.

The drilling location is around 9 kilometres south of Skarv and 24 kilometres northeast of Heidrun.

Well 6507/5-9 S, named “Shrek”, has the following geographical coordinates:

65º 39’ 35.87 N
07º 38’ 51.07 E

Water depth at the site is 358 metres.

Drilling is scheduled to begin on 1 September 2019 and is expected to last for 49 days.

The well will be drilled by Deepsea Nordkapp which is a semi-submersible drilling facility of the Moss Maritime CS 60E type, owned and operated by Odfjell Drilling.

The facility received Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) from the PSA in April 2019.
