Wärtsilä has entered into a 10-year operation and maintenance (O&M) agreement with Pampa Energia for multi-fuel power plant in Argentina.

Under the deal, Wärtsilä provide full O&M services for Central Térmica Parque Pilar project located in Buenos Aires province.

Once operational, the Central Térmica Parque Pilar power plant will have a generating capacity of around 100MW.

Six 50DF multi-fuel engines will be used in the project, which will operate on natural gas with heavy fuel oil as a back-up fuel.

The installation will be continuously monitored for the assessment of power plant’s performance, helping to minimize and prevent operational deviation and unexpected downtime.

Wärtsilä, which handles risk management, offers Pampa with performance and lifecycle cost guarantees.

The company’s services include personnel for operations and spare parts, as well as different maintenance services ranging from scheduled service activities to predictive and unscheduled maintenance.

Pampa Energia production manager Esteban Rossit said: “This long term O&M contract signed with Wärtsilä Argentina S.A. demonstrates the commitment and willingness of two important companies to reaffirm a solid commercial partnership.

“Pampa Energia places its trust on the wide experience of Wärtsilä in order to defend the acquired commitments of the company with the Argentinean interconnected system for the supply of flexible, efficient and reliable energy.”
