Under the $5.5m contract, the company will supply multiple ECOMAX and CDMS systems for the customer’s 7FA gas turbines fleet.
A stand-alone real-time automatic combustion management system, ECOMAX is designed to safely returns control and optimization of the combustion process to the operator, thereby enabling the customer to maximize turbine output without increasing emissions, while remaining compliant under North American Electric Reliability (NERC) regulations.
Wood Group GTS-Power Plant Services president Frank Avery said the contract is a further endorsement of the value the company’s independent and innovative services bring to operators of ‘F’ technology gas turbines.
”ECOMAX technology enables plant operators to set the gas turbine operating parameters, while continuously monitoring and adjusting within the framework of those parameters,” Avery added.
The automated tuning technology has already been installed at two sites in 2013, while installation on the remaining three sites is scheduled for 2014.
