Talisman Energy has awarded front end engineering and design (FEED) contract to Wood Group for the subsea development of the Ca Rong Do field offshore Vietnam.

Under the contract, Wood Group Kenny (WGK) will conduct comprehensive flow assurance studies and full FEED engineering of the subsea system and structures, risers, flowlines, and power and control umbilicals.

WGK will manage work under the contract from its office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with support from other WGK Asia Pacific offices.

Earlier, Wood Group secured a top tensioned riser (TTR) FEED contract to design the dry tree production / injection and drilling riser systems.

The WGK Houston office will undertake the engineering work for the tension leg wellhead platform (TLWP) supported riser systems.

WGK CEO Bob MacDonald said: "We are leveraging our global network of engineers to deliver the most effective solutions for the Ca Rong Do development.

"These contracts also continue Wood Group’s strong relationship with Talisman Energy which spans continents; from this key greenfield project in Vietnam, to operations and maintenance on UK North Sea assets."

The Ca Rong Do field is estimated to host around 67 million barrels of oil equivalent.
