Construction of the $21m project will begin in 2011 and American Transmission Co (ATC) will build the power line.
Much of the new line will be built following an existing electric distribution line and road right-of-way.
The project is needed to support the local distribution network, and Wisconsin Public Service Corp, a local distribution utility, will build the Woodmin Substation.
ATC owns, operates, builds and maintains a high-voltage electric transmission system serving portions of Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota and Illinois.
