The contract consists of supply, installation, commissioning of the wind turbines, a VestasOnline Business supervisory control and data acquisition solution, as well as a five-year service agreement.
The Toutico wind farm is estimated to produce 264GWh per year which will save the environment from approximately 164,000 tons of CO2 emissions. The wind farm is expected to cover the yearly electricity consumption of approximately 102,000 Portuguese households.
Delivery of the wind turbines is expected to start during the autumn of 2008 and will be completed during the autumn of 2009.
Juan Araluce, president of Vestas Mediterranean, said: We are very pleased that Enersis once again has chosen the V90-3MW turbine for a new project in Portugal, which will be added to Enersis’s existing fleet of 76 V90-3MW turbines. This will be the fourth V90-3MW project that Vestas has established with Enersis in Portugal.
