The deal requires the Danish company to supply, install and commission 20 of its V110-2.0 MW turbines at the Khambaliya project.

The order, which extends an existing contract with Powerica, will see the company upgrade 12MW of turbines at the site and deliver additional 28MW of units.

Vestas expects to complete the turbine installation in the second quarter of next year. The company will service the facility under a five-year deal and the order also includes an Active Output Management (AOM) 5000 contract.

Powerica chairman Naresh Oberoi said: "This contract with Vestas will enhance our wind power portfolio. Vestas is a trusted partner and we will continue to work with them to expand this relationship even more."

Vestas India head Jorn Hammer said: "We are strengthening our operations in India, and this order confirms we are on the right track and making good progress. We look forward to working with Powerica to deliver a top-performing wind energy power plant."

Vestas has delivered wind energy in 74 countries. The company has to date installed over 69GW of wind turbines globally.
