Under the contract, Vestas has agreed to supply, install and commission 56 units of the V90-3MW wind turbine for the project.
The contract also include a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution, and a ten-year service agreement.
The wind turbines will be manufactured during next year, and will be deployed on site during the first half of 2013.
Hydro Tasmania currently operates 140MW of wind power, the 65MW Bluff Point Wind Farm features 37 Vestas V66-1.75MW turbines and the 75MW Woolnorth Wind Farm features 25 Vestas V90-3MW turbines.
The V90-3MW is designed to be easy to transport and install through its compact, low weight design and reduced foundation loadings.
