As an Energy Star partner, Verizon Wireless will measure and track energy performance at hundreds of company communications stores, switching centers, cell sites and other facilities throughout the US and integrate Energy Star resources into Verizon’s energy management strategy.
In addition, Verizon Wireless’ responsibility will include taking the initiative to spread the word about the importance of energy efficiency to employees, partners and community members in the 49 states where Verizon Wireless operates.
Verizon executive vice president John Stratton said that the company is formalizing its partnership with the EPA and this strategic, corporate energy management program to enhance its business’ sustainable energy practices and contribute to a better environment for future generations.
"And being more energy efficient makes business sense: energy efficient operations help keep costs down, and we can redirect those resources to improve the customer experience," Stratton said.
