Under the terms of the contract, Veolia Water will operate and maintain the County’s water treatment systems, transmission lines and booster stations to serve approximately 10,000 residents.
The contract, which will allow the County to retain all water assets and control over water rates in addition to the management of its distribution system, will require Veolia Water to manage approximately 13 local employees for the wastewater systems operation.
The new contract for the water system extends Haldimand County’s longstanding partnership with Veolia Water, which has operated and managed the County’s wastewater system for 13 years.
Haldimand County wastewater treatment facilities project manager Duane Forth said that Veolia Water has worked very hard to provide its top level service to the residents of the County and the water project is a continuation of that record.
