The process water and waste water divisions of Veolia Water Technologies have been merged into a single organisation.

The move aims to better help organisations rethink water and support industry in managing water challenges.

The new move, according to the company, will allow the industrial, healthcare and scientific sectors to re-imagine water, by optimising water cycles and to manage sustainability, regulatory and financial pressures.

Veolia’s strategy will offers simplified local, reliable and secure service delivery, process expertise and project implementation, allowing customers to benefit from technical, servicing and security expertise.

The company cliams that rethinking water unveils new opportunities for organisations to maximise the value extracted from water and waste water streams.

The company notes that in a typical industrial process, water cost can be reduced by employing a high recovery membrane system. It will decrease water wastage and recycling it back to be used in the process.

Apart from this, valuable products can be concentrated and recovered. Also, high strength waste can be treated with anaerobic reactor, which can produce gas. This process can convert waste products to produce electricity.

Additionally, the company noted that waste streams consisting of ammonia or phosphate can be treated using AnitaMox process or Dissolved Air Filtration (DAF) system as sludge. This sludge can be processed by adding other compounds and can be sold as fertilisers.

Veolia claims that it can serve a range of industries ranging from food and beverage, chemical processing, automotive, pharmaceutical industries.

By using its technologies coupled with service expertise can help reduce water and energy consumption across industries and meet environmental, regulatory and financial challenges.

Veolia COO Mark Dyson said: “With our new, unified Veolia Water Technologies UK business, our ambition is to make it easy for our customers, to deal with one company that can provide industry with the opportunity and capability to significantly reduce operating costs and environmental impact – a single source for all their compliant water needs.

“This will be a major benefit to our customers in terms of efficiency, excellence, consistency and continuity.”
