It is estimated that it will take six months to fix the structure, whose riprap was severely stripped by the 1m high waves that came in September in the wake of the disaster.

Lake Livingston’s water level has been lowered by approximately 1.3m and will remain at that reduced level until repairs are completed.

Officials say they have inspected the damage and are now awaiting funding, and hope for help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency by the end of the year.
