In April, May and June where there is maximum power requirements, there would be no addition to existing capacity. If everything proceeds according to the plan, a series of power stations may by erected subsequently. As per the proposal, a second 300 MW unit of Rosa would be commissioned by June 2010. Subsequently, in July 2010, three more units in different power stations would be commissioned including, 250 MW Parischa extension (stage-II), 250 MW Harduaganj extension and 82.5 MW Sri Nagar.
By September 2010, the third unit of the 82.5 MW Sri Nagar facility would have its turbines rolling. The fourth unit of 82.5 MW Sri Nagar and the second unit of 250 MW Harduaganj would become operational by the end of October 2010.
The draft proposal states that by the end of 2012, nearly 5,450 MW of power would be added. The document states that by 2011, four additional power units would be added including the initial unit of 600 MW Anpara-C in March 2011, the initial unit of 500 MW Anpara D in April 2011 and in July 2011 500 MW second unit of Anpara-D.
In March 2012, UPPCL plans to construct the initial units of Bara and Karchana, each with 660 MW capacity.
