The first phase of work, which is along the outbound carriageway from High Park Street through to the Dingle Lane / Ullet Road junction, is due to be completed during late October 2009. A further phase will then follow, which will see work taking place in the inbound carriageway from the junction with Dingle Lane to Park Hill Road. This phase is due to be completed in November 2009.
For the duration of these works all vehicle movement will be controlled by temporary two-way traffic lights. The position of the lights will change as the work progresses.
John Maher, United Utilities’ project engineer, said: “This work is designed to improve the quality of Liverpool’s water supply and reduce the risk of leakage.”
“This is one of the many schemes our customers’ bills help to fund and it will be well worth it when it is finished.”
