Land Warrior, which will be used by the Australian military, is an integrated, modular fighting system that incorporates Ultralife’s battery models LI-145, LI-80, LM-145 and CH0006 Charger and Adapters to enhance individual soldiers’ close-combat tactical awareness, lethality and survivability.

Deliveries of the systems that include weapon-mounted sensors, integrated helmet assembly, communications-navigation computer system and software for force tracking and command/control programs will begin in the first quarter of 2011 and completed by the fourth quarter of 2012.

Ultralife president and CEO John Kavazanjian said that Ultralife’s capabilities in developing energy storage products for defense communications and power systems for the US Department of Defense across a variety of military programs are increasingly being recognized by the international allies.

"In this case, our Land Warrior lithium battery suite will be used to support the Australian military’s Land 200 Battle Management System, a program for which we are already supplying our A320 RF pocket amplifiers," Kavazanjian said.
