SaskPower has selected Alstom Grid’s consulting and systems integration services group, UISOL, to provide an asset management optimization solution.

AIP solution

UISOL will provide the technical and business services, including project management oversight, installation of the software, and training for SaskPower personnel, for implementation of the Asset Investment Planning (AIP) solution within the company’s IT environment.

Provided by Clevest, the AIP software will be configured to handle power production infrastructure optimization with future expansion into transmission and distribution.

UISOL systems integration practice lead Terry Nielsen said, "The AIP solution provides utility personnel with the tools and means to optimize electrical Grid, operations and maintenance spending, to prioritize decision-making and to manage risk while accounting for asset condition and performance over time."

Clevest CEO Thomas Ligocki said the company’s mobile solutions are already being used at SaskPower to help with its advanced metering infrastructure implementation.

"We are very excited to capitalise on this success with our AIP solution, which is currently being used to identify, justify, and optimize capital portfolios at major energy companies in Canada and the U.S.," Ligocki added.
