Russian energy behemoth Unified Energy Systems (UES) has published details of its five-year investment plan that is expected to deliver some 20.9 GW of new generation capacity.

The Rb2.1 trillion ($78.6 billion) programme includes some rb1.1 trillion ($41.2 billion) of investment on the national transmission grid with thermal generation will accounting for around Rb650 billion ($24.3 billion) of the total. The majority of the remaining investment is expected to go on hydroelectric developments.
