The UAE is studying the building of 23 dams in small valleys to provide drinking water and irrigation, according to Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries Saeed Bin Mohammad Al Raghabani. He said the ministry was carrying out field surveys to determine suitable and economic ways to build the dams, adding that a protocol was in place with Morocco to establish two dams in the near future.

The Minister was speaking to the press in Abu Dhabi during the inauguration of Gulf Water Week.
