The project, one of the 11 China-government-approved Xinjiang Urban Environmental Comprehensive Improvement Projects, is financed by an Official Development Assistance Loan under an agreement between China’s Ministry of Finance and Japan’s Bank for International Cooperation.
Under this project, Tri-Tech will upgrade the Kuitun central wastewater treatment plant, which has a daily capacity of 40,000 cubic meters and construct a companion wastewater treatment plant with a targeted daily capacity of 60,000 cubic meters.
Tri-Tech’s upgrade work will include the use of anoxic/aerobic biological nitrogen removal process to decrease pollution discharged from the plant allowing it to meet Class 1B standards.
Tri-Tech will be responsible for the procurement and installation of complete sets of processing equipment, technical personnel training, equipment fabrication inspection and commissioning and post-installation services for these two plants.
The upgrade work on the central wastewater treatment plant is expected to be completed by end of 2010, while the construction of the new plant is scheduled for completion by first half of 2011.
