The VRC-CNG compressor is a two-throw compressor frame rated up to 125hp and is capable of four stages of compression. It is suited to both electric motor and Arrow’s multi-cylinder engines.

Arrow said that the CNG compressor has been designed to deliver the high pressures required for vehicle fuel systems from commonly available utility natural gas supply pressures at flow rates up to approximately 2 gallons per minute (gasoline equivalent). This type of flexibility will enable the Arrow VRC-CNG compressor to meet the requirements of numerous CNG applications around the world.

In 2006, Arrow introduced a VRC-2 gas compressor for natural gas production. Arrow has delivered over 200 units of it to rental fleet owners and end users.

Len Turner, president of Arrow Engine, said: “Arrow is proud to be a part of the rapidly growing CNG market for vehicle refueling. This is an avenue for diversification outside of Arrow’s traditional oil and gas production equipment roots. Arrow continues to add new, innovative products to our growing line of solutions for the oil and natural gas markets.”

Arrow is also expanding into the compressor packaging market, in which the company will manufacture the components for a compressor, such as engines, skids, bottles and compressors, and also produce complete compressor packages ready for use in the field or in CNG fueling stations.
