The power project is located in the Queens borough of New York and is a dual fuel facility, which can run on either fuel oil or natural gas.
The power authority ceased operations at the more than three-decade-old plant in January 2010, and under a 2002 agreement, it committed to construct a clean generating unit at the same site, which became operational in December 2005.
Under the new contract, TRC will provide design, engineering, planning and construction management services, including pre-demolition site investigation; design of construction documents for the future demolition project; and recommendations of action for existing plant auxiliary buildings that are no longer needed.
TRC is an engineering, consulting and construction management firm that provides integrated services to the energy, environmental and infrastructure markets.
