Mr Esteve’s appointment will help Total meet its strategic goal of expanding into the nuclear power industry, the company said.
In 2000, Mr Esteve joined Framatome (now Areva) as vice president of nuclear fuel. He was appointed senior vice president of nuclear power plants at Framatome ANP in 2002. In 2006, he moved to the US as executive president of Areva North America.
