At the time of acquisition, Sigma Power will run two wind projects on Kyushu Island namely the Nagashima-Kuronose wind power plant in Kagoshima prefecture, and Shin-Kamigoto Whales wind system in Nagasaki prefecture.
Besides, Sigma Power will construct a new wind power plant in Shin-Nagashima in Kagoshima that is likely to come online in fiscal year 2014. It also plans to construct four more such plants in the Tohoku, Chugoku and Shikoku regions of Japan.
The company, which is already operating in geothermal and hydro power area, will include wind power to its scope of renewable business with this acquisition.
