This project covers roughly 4,000sq km in the deep water area of Benin, and data acquisition will commence in January 2011 and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2011.

This project is the second in a series of surveys along the African Transform Margin, following the Gambia project announced in October 2010.

Specialized data processing will be done at the company’s imaging center in Houston, Texas.

The Benin multi-client 3D survey is supported by industry funding, the company said.

TGS provides global geoscience data products and services to the oil and gas industry for the exploration and delineation of hydrocarbon reserves.
