Tethys Petroleum has completed the farm-out agreement with subsidiaries of Total Exploration and Production and China National Petroleum (CNPC) in Tajikistan.

As part of the deal, each company will hold a one third interest in the Bokhtar Production Sharing Contract (Bokhtar PSC).

The Bokhtar PSC includes about 35,000km2 area and nearly 27.5 billion barrels oil equivalent of gross unrisked mean recoverable prospective resources.

In addition, the Tajikistan government has added about 1186.37km2 of highly prospective acreage, which was not previously specified in the Bokhtar PSC.

The government has also extended the first relinquishment period by five years until 2020 under the PSC.

The deal will allow the consortium for further seismic acquisition and drilling of deep exploration wells in the Bokhtar PSC to evaluate the potential super giant deposits.
