The Pathum-1 exploration well is the third and final well that Pearl Oil will spud as a part of Tap Oil’s Thailand 2012 exploration drilling campaign.

The exploration well is located in the Pathum prospect in G3/48 license within southern Sattakut Basin about 41km north west of the existing Manora oil field. It will be drilled to test petroleum potential of the fluvial section as the primary target in the basin.

Pearl Oil will spud the well in shallow water to a total depth of about 2,342m measured depth rotary table to target about 5 million barrels of prospective resource.

The drilling rig is on the location ENSCO 85 and the drilling program is expected to take about 11 days to reach the depth.

Pearl Oil (Aoa Thai) with 40% interest in the G3/48 concession is the operator while Northern Gulf Oil (Thailand) and Pearl Oil (G3-G6)each hold 40% and 20% respectively.
