Systech Computer Corporation (Systech) has introduced a new ONDEMAND Remote Access and Management System for remote device control applications. The new software product suite includes host server software and remote device software that can be pre-configured and installed on Systech’s network device server and IPG gateway products. Systech’s NativeCOM port redirector software can be enabled to facilitate application access to remote serial-based devices.

Managing and controlling distributed serial devices in application-specific automation systems, such as home automation, HVAC, temperature and lighting automation, home and plant physical security and air filtration systems, can create costly and slow response service and support issues.

Mark Fowler, Systech’s president and CEO said, “These applications are highly dynamic; every time an issue arises or a customer requirement changes, sending a tech via a truck to the site can cost $250.00 plus. With our new ONDEMAND remote access and management system deployed, support and service of remote customer devices in these applications can be affected from anywhere an Internet connection is available.”

The new software system is designed around an administrator, host access server and remote client hierarchy. At the remote location, serial-based devices (e.g. thermostats, lighting controls, sensing and actuating devices) are connected to a Systech network device server or gateway product in which the ONDEMAND remote device software is installed. The Systech devices, with optional SSL encryption, are connected via a high speed IP network to the ONDEMAND host access server software, which runs on any hardware platform with Windows XP Pro, Vista Pro or Windows Server; installation and configuration is browser-based. Application admin, control and management are affected over an Internet connection to the host access server from any PC or laptop at the office, help desk or home. The system requires no modifications to the remote location’s network or serial devices, works within the existing firewall, and does not require a static IP or Internet address.

Jon Goby, Systech vice president, sales said, “In a continuing effort to address the emerging needs of Systech’s customers, some of which have thousands of remote serial devices installed at many locations worldwide, we have developed a new, unique and secure way to manage and control remote devices. The net result is a cost effective and highly scalable solution that enables a higher degree of customer service and response for the integrator and end-customer. We are delivering the system capability for providing, in essence, a ‘virtual service call’.”

The ONDEMAND Remote Access and Management Software suite is available under license from Systech. The license fee pricing is structured as an annual license fee, which varies depending on the number of remote devices connected into the system, and whether the software is licensed by integrators for remarketing or qualified OEMs.

The new Systech ONDEMAND software suite is marketed through leading resellers and integrators delivering distributed application-specific automation and control solutions.
