Suzlon Energy, through its overseas arm Suzlon Energia Eolica do Brasil, has won an order from Martifer Renovaveis to set up, operate and maintain a 218MW wind power project across the Brazilian states of Ceara and Rio Grande do Norte.

The full turn-key project will comprise of 104 units of Suzlon’s S88-2.1MW wind turbine, which can generate enough electricity to power over 160,000 Brazilian households.

The project is slated to be commissioned in phases by June, 2012 and is expected to offset over 425 tones of CO2 annually.

Martifer Renovaveis is part of the Martifer Group, which develops and operates renewable energy projects.
