Stream Energy, which is engaged in power and natural gas distribution, has started enrolling natural gas customers after being approved to provide energy service in Georgia by that state's Public Services Commission.

Stream Energy will be able to provide natural gas to customers in those counties in Georgia that are within the Atlanta Gas Light service area, including such cities as Atlanta, Savannah, Macon, Athens, Rome, Valdosta, Augusta and Brunswick.

Georgia is an important first step in Stream Energy’s long-range plan to take its business and marketing plan to other states. The natural gas industry in Georgia was first deregulated during 1997.

Rob Snyder, co-founder and chairman of Stream Energy, said: We’re very excited about providing natural gas service to the people of Georgia. Georgia is a terrific market that we believe will respond very positively to our philosophy of one-on-one sales and outstanding customer service.
