Statoil has awarded a contract to the Energy Products Division of Parker Hannifin, a manufacturer of motion and control technologies, for the supply of umbilical system for the Smorbukk North East Project in the Norwegian Sea.

The project, which will be delivered by end of June 2011, consists of 18,701ft of steel tube umbilical, termination hardware, and site support.

The umbilical will be constructed at the division’s manufacturing location in Tonsberg, Norway.

Smorbukk North East is part of the Asgard Unit in the North Sea, located in the Halten area, approximately 3.4 miles northeast of the Asgard N-template.

The Energy Products Division of Parker Hannifin provides project solutions (marine hose, power cables, mooring lines, high pressure hose, custom umbilicals, surveying, metrology, and service) with customer-focused project management, for global energy recovery.

The Energy Products Division is based in Stafford, Texas in the US.
