The new agreement will provide a range of technical support services for SSE’s GE wind turbines, allowing SSE the flexibility to customize technical support services on a site-by-site basis.
All of the wind turbines covered under the new service agreement are GE 1.5MW units, and the agreement includes GE’s specialized technology for remote monitoring, troubleshooting and support as well as routine maintenance.
SSE owns approximately 10,700MW of electricity generation capacity, which includes 4,500MW of gas-fired and oil-fired capacity, 4,000MW of coal-fired capacity, and more than 2,200MW of renewable energy capacity.
