The company paid $324m to acquire these assets which comprise approximately 300 billion cubic feet of natural gas and liquid resources.
Gas production from the assets is forecast to be in excess of 200 million therms this year, rising to about 300 million therms in 2012, which will provide about 6% of SSE’s gas needs.
In April 2010, the company signed a deal with Hess to acquire the natural gas assets and infrastructure in three regions of the North Sea.
