Spark Hydro Power, a renewable project developer, is set to commence construction of the 101MW Tamor-Mewa Hydel Project located in Nepal in November 2013.

The funds for the NPR18bn ($186.2m) project located at Fungling VDC of Taplejung district will be secured from Nepali and European investors. Also the 10% stake in the project will be awarded to locals.

Spark Hydro Power project chief Bhanendra Kumar Limbu said that the project has attracted investment applications from Hong Kong Nepalese group, Spark Hydro Cooperation Committee, which would be aided by European investors.

The largest run-of-the-river project in the eastern region is expected to be connected with central grid by constructing substation at Fungling.

The company is currently seeking generation license from the Department of Electricity Development, Limbu revealed.
