According to reports from Reuters, the dam’s reservoir began filling this week and it is due to reach full capacity within the next four months.
Built by SinoHydro, the dam was financed in part by a loan from China's Export-Import Bank.
Once fully commissioned, the project will increase the country’s total capacity by approximately 10%.
