Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has outlined plans to auction four pilot solar thermal power projects that require INR25.55bn ($0.45bn) in investment..

The proposed solar thermal projects will be located in states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, with a total capacity of about 120MW, reports the thehindubusinessline.com.

These projects have been allocated INR10.2bn ($183m) in funding by the government.

Developers offering least auction value will be awarded by the development of these solar thermal projects.

Meanwhile, seven solar thermal projects with a total capacity of around 500MW have been auctioned in December 2010, under the National Solar Mission.
