The power station attained the generation of 6,609 million units in fiscal year 2008, against the set output of 6,600 million units. The energy generation has been steadily growing each year since the project became operational in 2003.
The INR86.6 billion project built on utlej River in the mountainous tribal Kinnaur district was finished in 15 years.
The MoU envisages conclusion of the 412 megawatt (MW) Rampur project by 2012. SJVNL also intends to receive statutory clearances for the 775 MW Luhri project and the 40 MW Dhaulasidh project in Himachal besides the 252 MW Dasari and 59 MW Naitwar Mori projects in adjacent to Uttarakhand.
