The MOUs will enhance PUB’s links with worldwide water research institutions and utilities, and promote knowledge sharing and transfer in water associated research and technology.

Established in 2011 in China, the ASEM Water Resources Research and Development Centre intends to promote sustainable water resources development in Asia and Europe via science and technology.

The MOU will enable the centre to use Singapore’s experience in water quality management and energy recovery from the used water reclamation process.

It will allow PUB to access the networks among ASEM members to strengthen its knowledge of leading-edge solutions in Asia and Europe.

The MOU with VCS Denmark follows an earlier agreement between the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources and the Danish Ministry of Environment during the Singapore International Water Week 2014.

Both water utilities will leverage their strengths in areas like wastewater technology and operations, energy reduction, and climate adaptation.

PUB is a statutory board under the Singapore’s Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources. It is responsible for the collection, production, distribution and reclamation of water in the country.
