Under terms of the accord, Siemens will provide service and maintenance for approximately 10 years to eight MidAmerican wind projects, which are currently in operation, as well as four additional projects that due to enter service during the term of the agreement.
The 12 wind farms will have a combined capacity of more than 2.2GW, which is enough to provide approximately 665,000 average Iowa homes with clean energy.
Iowa Governor Terry Branstad said: "It is great to see clean, renewable energy as the state of Iowa benefits from the quality jobs and positive economic impact that the renewable energy business generates and delivers."
Siemens will provide service and maintenance solutions for the wind power project to help ensure the optimal performance over the next decade.

Currently, Siemens provides service and maintenance for more than 3,100 installed wind turbines in the Americas region and more than 7,600 globally.
