The deal covers 130 Siemens SWT-2.3-108 wind turbines. Installation is due to start in 2015.
The wind farm, which is expected to start operations in the fourth quarter of 2015, will generate enough energy for about 100,000 US households per year.
Siemens’ Financial Services Division has agreed to fund about $80m of the project’s construction financing.
Apex president Mark Goodwin said: "Apex is pleased to be working with Siemens to bring the benefits of affordable, renewable energy to Oklahoma and Kansas.
"This project will help boost the Kay County economy and support local schools, while helping to reduce rates for energy consumers in the SPP system (Southwest Power Pool)."
Southern Company subsidiary Southern Power will acquire the Kay wind farm after its completion.
Westar Energy has agreed to buy 199MW of the wind farm’s output and Grand River Dam Authority will purchase the remaining 100MW, under 20-year contracts. Both companies will also get the related renewable-energy credits.
Apex has unveiled over 750MW of power purchase agreements since 2013. The company plans to starts operations of five new US wind energy facilities in 2016, comprising 1,164MW of capacity.
The company will provide asset management services on four of the facilities, representing over 800MW of capacity.
