The long-term agreement stipulates that billing is mandated as per completed work measured against production volume, plant availability, safety and compliance with environmental specifications.
Siemes will provide the services in accordance with the risk-based maintenance concept introduced by Codelco at the project site.
Commenting on the agreement Siemens customer services division CEO Dirk Hoke said that the order demonstrates its customer’s confidence in the company as a reliable service provider.
"It further reinforces the long-standing successful cooperation between Siemens and Codelco," said Hoke.
The Andina mine located in the Andes Mountains is expected to yield 248,000 tonnes of copper and 7,200 tonnes of molybdenum per annum.
