Siemens has fully installed two thirds of the 48 wind turbines. The first group of eight wind turbines has also been transferred to Westermeerwind. This already enables over 26,000 households to benefit from renewable power, obtained from the wind farm under construction.

The extremely windy location combined with the quality of the chosen turbines, ensure that the generated power is of excellent quality.
In the coming period, main contractor Siemens will transfer the turbines to its client Westermeerwind in batches. Along with the onshore transformer station, the foundations and the cable connections, the 48 wind turbines in total will ensure that enough wind power is generated to sustain 160,000 households by the spring of 2016.
