The work, which will also include the installation of solar panels on one of these homes, is part of the District Heights Energy Efficiency Program (DHEEP) and will be funded by the $200,000 Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG).
DHEEP is a community-wide effort that provides financial assistance to homeowners across all income levels in the city of District Heights to make energy efficient retrofits in order to improve energy performance, comfort, durability, healthiness and safety of their homes.
Standard Energy Solutions vice president of residential business Scott Carr said that it is programs like these that help residents and communities realize that energy efficiency can be an option for everyone.
"District Heights is helping to spread that message, one neighbor at a time – and we are thrilled to be a part of it," Carr said.
