Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a scientific, engineering and technology applications company, has won a contract from renewable energy company Terra-Gen Power to construct a binary geothermal power plant in Churchill County, Nevada.

The contract is valued at more than $14m and the project is scheduled for completion by January 2012.

The power plant will be constructed adjacent to the existing Dixie Valley geothermal facility.

Work will be performed by The Benham Companies, SAIC’s wholly owned, design-build subsidiary.

SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager JT Grumski said that the company looks forward to delivering a quality facility to Terra Gen, and further demonstrating its expertise in the geothermal renewable energy market.
